2019 ANNUAL PROGRAM

Mobirise

The 2019 edition was very special, as it was the first time there were several "seasons": winter, spring, autumn and summer.
The unusual theater season is now an annual event!

April 2019

Mobirise

This creative project, born of an urgent need to re-examine a reality bordering on the absurd, takes a raw, offbeat look at the many paths taken by street children. While delving into the children's imaginations, dreams and nightmares, this creation highlights everything that makes these children so deeply touching and beautiful.

Petit Bout de Bois questions the problem of exclusion, highlighting the dysfunctions of contemporary society and high-speed globalization. It questions our commitment to respecting fundamental human rights, especially those of children, and our astonishing capacity to let things happen, to turn a blind eye.

Petit bout de bois invites us to open our eyes, and fill them with emotion!

School performances from April 23 to May 2, 2019

CONTES ZEN DU POTAGER - La Pire Espèce (Montréal)

SHOW IN THE CHURCH

After sowing some of the seeds of the show at the Micro-Festival de marionnettes inachevées in 2018, La Pire Espèce returns with its harvest basket overflowing with seasonal vegetables!

In Contes zen du potager, the heroes are monks or samurai; a vegetable or fruit serves as their body, revealing their character. Each intervention of the manipulators is as assured and minimal as the gesture of the calligrapher or the Japanese cook, as ritualistic as the art of tea, and as amusing and inventive as the art of the object!

Grab the chance to see this important Montreal company back in Trois-Rivières!

CONCERT ANATOMIQUE (BODY CONCERT)
Coproduction Lone Wolf Tribe (N-Y, USA) / Les Sages Fous

Find out more here

PERFORMANCE IN THE CHURCH

CONCERT ANATOMIQUE takes us to the edge of reality, between dance and puppetry, in an unusual and extremely rigorous solo choreography. Oversized human body parts come to life in a wordless meditation punctuated by haunting music. Unforgettable, tenderly grotesque images appear and dissolve in shifting environments of falling snow and lingering steam.

ANATOMIC CONCERT was created as part of artistic residencies in Canada and Norway with the support of Les Sages Fous and Ella Fiskum Danz. It was presented in 2018 at St. Ann's Puppet Lab and received financial support from the Brooklyn Arts Council. After an important creation stage in November 2018 in Trois-Rivières, the show is back in its final version during the Saison de théâtre insolite. The show will then be presented in the prestigious La Mama Moves! Dance Festival in New York, in May 2020.

Don't miss your chance to see this incomparable show!

"In the church of puppetry artistry, Augustine is divine" - Time Out New York
